Devotional Handout: Lessons from Elijah, Elisha, and Gehazi
Theme: Faith, Failure, and Finishing Well
✨ 1. Elijah – When Fire Meets Fatigue
Scripture: 1 Kings 17–19, 2 Kings 1–2
Key Strengths: Courage, obedience, powerful prayer life
Struggles: Burnout, fear, isolation
🔍 Reflection:
Elijah’s boldness on Mount Carmel was followed by deep fear and depression. Even the strongest among us have breaking points. God met him not with rebuke, but with gentleness and rest.
🧎 Prayer Prompt:
“Lord, help me recognize when I’m running on empty. Teach me to rest in Your voice and not in the noise around me.”

🔥 2. Elisha – The Double Portion Disciple
Scripture: 2 Kings 2–13
Key Strengths: Loyalty, bold faith, compassion, miraculous ministry
Struggles: Failure to disciple a worthy successor
🔍 Reflection:
Elisha stayed with Elijah till the very end and received a double portion of his spirit. His story reminds us that consistent faithfulness leads to multiplied impact.
🧎 Prayer Prompt:
“God, may I walk closely with those You place in my life to mentor and learn from. Give me the faith to ask boldly and the wisdom to pass it on.”
⚠️ 3. Gehazi – So Close, Yet So Far
Scripture: 2 Kings 4–5, 8
Key Strengths: Exposure to miracles, trusted position
Struggles: Greed, deceit, lack of integrity
🔍 Reflection:
Gehazi’s story is a sober warning. Proximity to greatness does not guarantee character. He traded legacy for luxury—and lost both.
🧎 Prayer Prompt:
“Lord, purify my heart. May I never value personal gain over Your truth. Help me walk in integrity no matter who’s watching.”
